Staying late at work to study for my PE. AMA...although I’ll probably miss it because I have to find Miner’s equation and I don’t think it is in the PE reference manual.
For you time

Can you still bring anything you want into the PE or is it a reference book like the FE now?

Anything you want. Less is more though. You don’t need much more than a thoroughly tabbed reference book and a few miscellaneous sheets. I’m bringing the reference and some example test books. That’s it.

Yep.
FE reference, Marks’ Handbook and a good
set of thermo tables would be what I’d grab.

I badly want to pass the PE someday.... but I very badly want never to take that monster. I saw the people going into it while I went into the FE and I felt so sorry for them and their luggage bags of books.

Miners equation? Umm I don’t remember that. One miners inch I think is 11 gpm

Ooh, which PE discipline are you doing? I’m more likely than not eventually get mine in Electrical and Computer.

It deals with fatigue life, specifically, I’m looking at a bearing with varying loads based on time and trying to find an average to compute than anticipated life.

I don’t want to take it either but I want a raise and I want to move on from this job. In order for those two to happen, I need my PE.
